Why King Charles Spaniels Are Great Pets For Kids And Adults

By Christopher Nelson

Pets are just the sweetest and if you have a really cute dog, well are you not just the luckiest chap out there. Toy breeds in particular are the cutest since that are small and have a lot of fluff going on. But picking the right one for you can be a bit tricky and things like even your own personality needs to be considered.

For those that want utmost loyal and gentle companionship, toy breeds are the best way to go. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in particular are small and fluffy going at about only a feet high. They weigh only about thirteen to eighteen pounds which should be easy to carry even for a child.

They are easy to carry which makes them rather fit for traveling. The fact that they are cute and cuddly makes them unfit for jobs involving guard duties and protection. Friendly with people and other dogs that they meet they will probably lead thieves to the silverware. If you want one that tends to be more active and goes out running, hiking and biting threatening men, you'd do well with something like a German Shepherd.

That is not to say that these pups are lazy. But these are lapdogs that also love comfort being pet by their owners in a stationary position. You may have to take them for a walk once in a while, but they should do fine just living in apartment like conditions.

Their training should be done with positive reinforcement and do well when you five them treats for a new trick. These make perfect dogs for kids since they are brought around anywhere and are easy to train. Buying them for a child, while the dog is still a puppy can help form a lifelong bond for both which the child would hold dear in his heart.

Pets are actually very common for therapy, but choosing the right one is vital. All they really want is to be loved and give that love back. Perfectly addressing the need for companionship and affection is what makes them the best therapy dogs and can be equivalent to having a human best friend. They effectively alleviate the loneliness of those felt usually by the elderly or any one else.

Pups have been assiting humans for many things including police work and, in this case, therapy. The ones used for therapy give emotional support for those who may need a holistic psychological improvement. The goal is to help the patient regain a sense of well being. The ones that need these pets can be those who are admitted to nursing homes, hospice and other facilities that cater to special needs.

You usually see these pets around in places like the hospice and facilities where they keep patients who have a hard time with coping from certain things. For places like nursing homes, it is known that people here feel great isolation from society due to age and the lack of physical capability. The effects of these circumstances can manifest themselves through depression and other mental and emotional instabilities.

The presence and affection of these canines are known to increase the brains production of Cxytocin and Dopamine. For children, this could mean that it is easier for them to manage their emotions of anger and hyper sensitivity when the dog is around. This also greatly helps them socialize since they have formed a relationship with another being.
