7 Cardinal Skills For Daily Living Survival

By Ann Phillips

It is by successfully tackling one day at a time that you have a long and happy life. This is not an easy proposal for a lot of people. This is why experts have proposed 7 crucial skills for daily living survival that will transform your idea about life. Here are some of these tips.

Set goals in life and work towards achieving them. Wise men say that a person without a destination will take any road. The problem is that you do not know where the road will lead you. Once you set goals, you will invest time, resources and actions towards achieving these goals. In case you encounter challenges, you will find a way of overcoming them because you know your ultimate target.

Learn how to deal with ordinary pressure. The world is never rosy and will therefore present tough situations every day. You must develop shock absorbers that enable you to suck in the pressure and maintain a level head regardless of the situation you will be facing. This protects you from collapsing under this pressure.

Find a way of achieving inner peace even in tough situations. A lot of people snap when the situation appears too tough. This would cause you to take a disastrous decision or act in a manner that you will regret in future. Pressure also causes some people to develop health issues. By finding inner peace, your decisions will not be regrettable.

Be comfortable with saying NO in some situations. This is a difficult decision that also requires skills because you might offend some people. It is impossible to say yes to all invitations and requests. You end up spreading yourself too thin and failing to fulfill your responsibilities. Only assign time and resources to issues that are within your set goals.

Prepare for emergencies, especially financially. Set aside some money you can use for several months in case you lose your job or a nasty situation happens. A storm may destroy your house or market dynamics cause you to lose your job. Prepare to keep your family and finances afloat for a while before you are sure of the next step. Save for retirement, update your health insurance and have contacts of professionals who can rescue you.

Create a strong social network around you. There is a lot of pressure in life and situations that do not require finances but the presence of people. It is also these people who will alert you of the next opportunity that might change your life. Share your good moments with these friends and allow them to lift you up when something unfortunate happens. The network should be made of family, friends, colleagues and associates who understand your journey in life.

Do not be too rigid about life. Change and adapt to times so that you are not crushed or left behind by events. Though you adapt to these changes, you must maintain the important principles of life like loyalty, hard work and diligence, among others. Life will be tough and rough if you insist on doing things the old way. Find a way of escaping tricky situations without harm.
