Buy Wedding Reception Goodies From Bulk Candy Suppliers

By Rebecca Carter

The great thing about running a home business is, besides flexibility, some types require a small startup fee. Selling sweets from home is great for those who like to bake but there is a niche for those who like to deal with the hard stuff. In other words, something that is not made in a home oven. Most people find they can buy different types of treats from bulk candy suppliers.

Edibles, while mostly saved for the reception, can play a big role in guest satisfaction. Not everyone wants the formality that was expected in weddings of yesteryear. Sometimes, guests may find themselves eating from the time they arrive.

This is common in modern ceremonies that are longer than a few minutes. Also, as ceremony spaces are changing, it is not like guests are chewing inside of a church or courthouse. Sometimes, guests may be treated to a light cocktail or sweet treat prior to the ceremony.

Many adults who grew up during the initial candy boom may remember sweet treats named after sports heroes or trends of the day. Some of these included chocolate bars that had layered ingredients, like chopped nuts or nougat. Marshmallow based sweet treats were also popular during the early years of mass produced snacks.

Like any other business, reaching out to a small group is best for testing the waters. If there is a lot of repeat business, then it helps to expand the selection with items similar to what is already in the inventory. Suppliers also sell other snacks, like soda and other soft beverages. Although soda is not hard to find in most areas, adding types that are hard to find, like birthday cake, can be a moneymaker.

Real sugar lovers may have this in addition to a dessert bar, or Viennese table. Usually, the appeal is in the display or the variety but guests normally go wild when they see large amounts of their favorite candy, or just anything sweet. Treats may be wrapped individually, by color, or just whatever fits a theme. For instance, a wedding with a Christmas theme may serve red and white candy canes.

Another way to grow business is to offer products for parties and gatherings. This works best for the person who regularly sells the hard to find candy and sweets, and buys regularly for their business. Anyone who buys regularly from a supplier may be entitled to discounts and other perks not available to just anyone. Event and wedding planners would rather have a local resource that is reliable and trustworthy.

Even if the wedding theme is glamorous or semi formal, suppliers normally have a wide variety that will fit any occasion. Some of these, like Jordan almonds, have just a hint of sweetness and come in a variety of colors. Others suggestions may include French mints, imported chocolate bars, and other gourmet delights that look stylish and taste great.
