How To Prevent Extreme Cluttering

Clutter is not classified as a significant reason that leads to stress. It is important to understand that clutter plays a role in how people feel about their homes and workplace. Cluttered spaces make you feel stressed or draw your attention away from your main agenda. It is difficult to find something in a pile of unwanted stuff around the house. This makes you feel tired and anxious, reasons you should avoid extreme cluttering. Below are few steps to overcome the negative effects of clutter.

It is your responsibility to ensure spaces are clean and neat. The process of removing clutter is not difficult if you follow these simple steps. First and foremost go through your entire home, decide what is useful and throw away what you consider unwanted in a sorting basket. Items such as old magazines, toys, clothes, and shoes should go in the sorting basket.

Drawers and wardrobes are filled with unwanted stuff. Take time to check your drawers and closet. Take out clothes that are too small or make you look bad. Some clothes become small before they are worn out. Such clothes should be placed in a sorting basket. Pick all the unwanted papers lying on the floor. You can to throw them away or recycle.

Beds carry a lot of junk without your knowledge. You will be surprised to find a lot of unwanted items under your bed. Place everything in a basket and clean the room. Spend some time arranging important items in the right position.

Once you are done with cleaning, invest some time in sorting items that are in the basket. You will require a large room filled with light. Sort one item at a time and decide why you need it. If you feel the task is too stressful to handle it on your own, call your best friend to help you out. Someone close to you will give honest opinion why you should keep or get rid of an item.

It is normal to have items you love and are willing to keep. Think about items you love and place them aside. The next aspect you should consider is how many times the item is utilized. Some items remind you of special people or events. Decide if they stand a chance to remain in the house based on your emotions.

Place items in three different groups to ease the whole sorting exercise. Items such as pens, notebooks and keys go in the first category. These items are utilized every day, it is wise to place them in a bowl or small box. Use a toolbox or shoe box to store tools and shoe accessories.

Clothes, shoes, and accessories should be evaluated carefully. Inspect your clothes to identify which ones fit well. Place those that fit well in clear boxes or hang them on a cloth hanger in the garage. This storage technique frees up space and makes work easy when searching for clothes. It is recommended that you give clothes, shoes, and toys to charity. Avoid throwing away items that can make an impact in someone else's life.
