Velvet Jewelry Display Box Options

By Patricia Hall

For anyone who has more than one or two pieces of jewelry, whether it be necklaces, bracelets, earrings or other pieces, the question of how to keep them in good condition and still visible is important. For many people, velvet jewelry display box options are the favorite way to keep jewelry of all types at hand and in good condition. One or more boxes can easily be placed in a drawer, shelf or table top.

Sorting items to play in a case can be done in various ways. You might want to keep your accessories for a night at symphony concert in a different place than where you would keep pieces suitable for wearing to a sport event or a trip to the park. Some wearers may want to sort items by the type of item. Keeping earrings in one compartment and pendants in another makes keeping both types of jewelry easy and convenient. You might have designer pieces as well as some costume pieces which can be sorted separately.

Although the interior surface of the display case is covered in velvet, there are variations in how the case is put together. The velvet may be covered with a lid which is clear or is made to be opened before the contents of the box is revealed. The velvet fabric can be of various colors and with a dull or lustrous finish.

The construction of the cases is another feature to consider before picking the perfect item. They can be constructed of wood and lined with velvet, or even plush velvets. The wood can be of an exotic variety and may be stained or painted. Other materials which have been used to provide a container for your jeweled accessory pieces include ceramic, plexiglass or metal.

The arrangement of the interior of the case can also contain a variety of features. There can be a grid of individual compartments for keeping a pair of earrings together in each compartment. Another popular way of displaying the adornments are bars or tines where clip-on earrings can be managed easily and attractively. You will no longer have to dump the contents of a box of small accessory pieces out on a table top to find a matching pair.

The size of the display is another characteristic to think about. If your jewelry collection is sizable, you will want a case which is large enough to hold all the pieces conveniently. Otherwise, you could purchase multiple cases to sort large collections easily. Smaller cases may be perfect if you only have a few pieces and don't plan to expand your collection any time soon.

When display space is limited, a container with a smaller footprint might be appropriate. A series of trays can be stacked neatly which helps with the categorization of individual pieces, even where there is not much space on a table or counter. When choosing these styles, the depth of your case will also need to be considered.

Although display boxes are designed to be attractive, they must also be functional in order to help you manage your jewelry collection. The boxes come in many styles and colors, as well as many different sizes. The options which are available are also matched with the personal preferences of owners.
